Carriers.
SMALL PARCELS are carried per railway, by any of the passenger trains, at a charge of fourpence and upwards.
LONDON AND NORTH-WESTERN (John Tarver, manager). - Luggage trains leave for London and the North and South daily, and for Liverpool, Preston, Bolton, Manchester, and Yorkshire several times daily.
LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE (G. S. Simm, manager). - Luggage trains leave for Liverpool, Manchester, Bolton, and Yorkshire several times daily.
WIGAN JUNCTION RAILWAY. - R. Heaton (carting agent and general carrier). Luggage trains leave for London, Sheffield, Manchester, and Liverpool, and all stations of the C. L. C., M. S. and L., and G. N. Railways, several times daily.
ED. GREEN - By boats to Manchester from the Warehouse, Wallgate, each evening at 5.30, returning from the Staffordshire Warehouse, Castle Field, Manchester, daily at 8.0 p.m.
LEEDS AND LIVERPOOL CANAL (J. Holmes, agent). - By boats to and from Liverpool, daily, and Blackburn several times a week.
ABRAM. - Horridge, from the Commercial Inn, to Abram, every Monday and Friday.
ASHTON. - Duxbury, every day, except Wednesday, from Royal Hotel Yard. - James Rimmer, daily, from Cross Keys, at 2.30 p.m. - Wood, from Crofters' Arms on Friday, at 1 p.m., and Saturday, at 7 p.m. - Ashton to Wigan : Jas. Rimmer, daily ; Duxbury, daily.
ASPULL AND HAIGH. - Atherton (postman), Wigan Lane, daily, at 6 a.m. - Gregory, every Monday, Friday and Saturday, from the New Market Hotel. - The Aspull Omnibus Company, from Crofters' Arms, Mondays, at 11 a.m. and 3.30 and 7.30 p.m. ; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, at 3.30 and 7.30 p.m. ; Fridays, at 11 a.m. and 4.0 and 7.30 p.m. ; Saturdays, at 2.0, 4.0, 7.30, and 10.15 p.m. - Walls, from the New Market Hotel on Saturdays.
BILLINGE. - Beesley, from the Commercial, every Friday. - Bostock, from the Commercial, every Friday. - Buckley (postman), Lower Ince, daily, at 6 a.m. (except Sundays).
BLACKROD. - Collier, from the Cross Keys, every Friday. - John Hope, from the New Market Hotel, on Friday, between 1 and 2 p.m.
CROOKE. - Halliwell (postman), Poolstock, each morning at 6 and afternoon at 3 (Sundays excepted). - Aspinall and Finney, from the Crofters' Arms, on Friday, at 1 p.m. ; and Saturday, at 6.30 p.m., 9 p.m., and 11 p.m.
GOOSE GREEN. - Robert Hambleton, every Friday, from Cross Keys.
HINDLEY COMMON AND ABRAM. - Causey (postman), Standishgate, daily, at 6 a.m. (Sundays excepted).
INCE, HINDLEY, AND PLATT BRIDGE. - Gee, from the Market Place, daily, at 6 a.m. (Sundays excepted).
NEW SPRINGS. - James Hope, from the New Market Hotel, every Friday and Saturday.
PEMBERTON, ORRELL POST, UPHOLLAND AND CRAWFORD VILLAGE. - Fawcett (postman), Taylor Street, daily, at 6 a.m., and returning from Crawford Village at 4 p.m. (Sundays excepted). - Ashurst and Molyneux, daily. - Baxter, to Pemberton and Upholland, daily, from Clarence Hotel.
STANDISH. - Houghton (postman), Poolstock, daily, at 6 a.m. (Sundays excepted). - Eccleston and Spencer, from the Roebuck, Friday and Saturday. - Hurst's omnibuses, from the White Horse, several times daily.
