Tattoo's

Started by: Billinge Biker (2384)

Good people of WW.. This is a thing of the last 20/30..years..as I know of...Tattoo's on young ladies..women in general..I can only speak for my two uncles..my late brother and me..who between us served over 60yrs in the Royal Navy without any Tattoo's between us..Now it seems the norm...personally I don't like to see them publicly displayed on their visible body parts..male or female..Her indoors has said on many an occasion.."I'm having a Tattoo"...my reply for the last 35 yrs...if I wanted a tattoo's woman...I'd have married a Platt Bridge Mol...They are expensive...permanent and do nothing for me personally., In years to come there will be a lot of people who rue their younger decision...To see females with tattoos on their faces makes me cringe..it's only my critisicm...how does anybody else see this body mutilation...?...I say this as today you will not believe what I have seen in a primary school yard..all will be revealed later...sensible replies only please,..don't flush...you know what will surface.

They're for sailors, convicts and prostitutes!

I hate tattoos with a passion. As you say, it's body mutilation, and not a canvas to be abused. I've seen some horrendous photos of, mainly men, with full face tattoos, but I've also seen an otherwise pretty woman whose face was full of the ugly things.

Worse thing about tattoos though is, they may look attractive to some when the person is young with young skin, but when they get old and their skin begins to wrinkle and sag, the "artistry" is dragged down and becomes even more ugly.

I feel the same about piercings and what they and tattoos say to me is "look at me", "I demand you look at me", because they lack self-esteem and have a need to be noticed by everyone.

And finally, they cost a small fortune, so somebody somewhere is going without necessities.

I don't like tatoos on ladies.
I think they they look awful. I think they may regret having them in later life, once the novelty wears off and they are no longer fashionable.

I've seen some men at the gym whose arms and legs are FULL of Tattoos So much that you can't differentiate any of the images It just looks like one big blob of ink... As well as tattoos what is appealing about body piercings?? Can someone explain?? There is nothing esthetic about them. For me any way..

I have several tattoos from the 1970s it is what it is,it happened!
I am neither a sailor convict or prostitute.
Neither do I judge people for having them
If I had my time again, I would keep my money in my pocket, and I suspect so will a lot of people in the years to come

I am from a big family and none of us have tattoos Some of our children have them and lots of our grandkids have them, My eldest grandchild is 21 and she has a 'sleeve' tattoo and I think its disgusting she is a pretty girl and in my eyes, she has ruined the beautiful creation she was born in and I insist she covers it in my presence because, I cannot bring myself to bear looking at it,

They do not appeal to me, but I cannot say that I find reasons to object to others partaking in tattoos or piercing if that be their choice.

I am sure we all do things of which someone else might wish to say, "Why would you want to do that"?

Friends find it strange that I once lived in a so called hippy commune. In retrospect, I even do so myself. It did seem to be the natural choice to make at the time, but the world, and us, move on.

Some people do have an appetite for banning things.

Remember "cake": started as a 'Brass Eye' spoof wherein an MP objects to the totally fictitious drug. But life imitating art, they soon found a real MP also standing up in the house to lambast a totally fictitious entity!

Every one to their own but some in time will regret having them done. It is the same with botox lip fillers I think it spoils the look of the person

Well said, Mollie.

I remember a student being interviewed on the Northern News, about 3 years ago, he was complaining that his "grant" wasn't enough to keep him clothed and fed. Everything was going ok till he turned his arms over, showing that one of them was covered in tattoos!
And I thought, get your priorities right, sunshine.

Tattoos are a personal choice, like smoking or drinking, both of which can affect skin and make it ugly.

I'm not sure I understand the connection between smokin/drinkin and tattoos affecting the skin Angelwood, I know smoking and drinking are unhealthy and can lead to early death but, tattoos just lead to , a new deco of a body, unless the tattooist uses ' dirty' needles which can end up with blood poisoning ?

Just like graffiti on buildings, graffiti on a body is a deliberate disfigurement.

I don't like to see either.

Must cost a fortune.

Tomplum, smoking and drinking causes wrinkles, discolouration and saggy skin. Just as much an eyesore as a tattoo.

Eggbeater, Most are dead and the ones that got out alive would have them removed or disguised so, I think your argument on this is invalid BUT, It is a good reminder of the upcoming remembrance period in which we should all promise to remember the fallen for our freedom and pledge homage to their sacrifice ,
