They do not appeal to me, but I cannot say that I find reasons to object to others partaking in tattoos or piercing if that be their choice.
I am sure we all do things of which someone else might wish to say, "Why would you want to do that"?
Friends find it strange that I once lived in a so called hippy commune. In retrospect, I even do so myself. It did seem to be the natural choice to make at the time, but the world, and us, move on.
Some people do have an appetite for banning things.
Remember "cake": started as a 'Brass Eye' spoof wherein an MP objects to the totally fictitious drug. But life imitating art, they soon found a real MP also standing up in the house to lambast a totally fictitious entity!
