This site will be even better now that Brian has taken you onboard to help. I know you will be strict but fair with members who step out of line. Well done mate.

Sorry, mester. I meant Gwim.

The last I heard, he got himself into a tired and emotional state and had shut himself in a toilet. I'm told that anyone who made enquiries as to his well-being, only got some incoherent tearful replies.

The only words that made any sort of sense sounded something like;

"Gwim's a big fat puff"

But of course, I could be wrong.

Then you should have words with the two on WL, Danni. They have gone from here badmouthing folk they know nothing about. The use of language and names JBG he's using is to call folk is well out of order. It is not the members of WW fault they were banned, they have no one to blame but themselves for that. The rules should be abided by Danni on any site, but it seems the rules are overlooked by Bernard.

No, Priscus. I presume you mean the Cooke & Moore one.

I saw the drama/documentary of them and Moore felt as though Cooke was bullying him with that particular sketch on a stage show. Went on for ages and Moore was suffering with leg trouble. Also mentioned one of the Derek & Clive 'sketches' where Cooke was really going to town with cancer references. I think Moore's mother had either recently contracted, or died of the disease.

A classic sketch (Mr Spigot) all the same.

I actually christened yon mon 'Spigot Monk' after he was rude to me on a post. Implying that I was under the influence of substances, he wrote 'Poking smot?' Which he referred to as an anagram.

Of course, I knew what the bounder meant and politely reminded him that his quip was in fact a spoonerism.

Out of courtesy, I put 'poking smot' into an anagram solver and amongst other things, 'spigot monk' emerged.

Which sounds rather sordid.

It started off as a mere wind up, Granada. I had read on WL that they thought Gwim was a mod on here and was instrumental in the banning of certain people, which is crap, so I congratulated him, as a joke. Danni was not involved at anytime with this and there was no intention to make her feel like she had to leave WW. Danni of course stood up for the site she moderates on and rightly so.

Well,in his defence, for what it is... He needs to stay in until his Mother comes home so she can take him out to wherever he needs to go. As such, he resents anyone with a normal life, and baits people until they bite so he can pour out his bile towards them, he is, if you please, blaming them for his situation.
I feel sorry for him, so play along with him until he has gotten it out of his system, saves him shouting at, and possibly striking out at, his Mother.
So I am doing him a favour really.
But I fear I must stop, I hope his Mother does the right thing and reports him to Social services, and he gets to live alone.
I take partial blame in that I should take my own advice, and refuse to feed the troll.
Again, I hope his Mother seeks help as soon as is possible.

I know.

I've let you down. I've let WW down. Most of all, I've let myself down.

Where do you draw the line. Ignore idiots? Drop to their level (in which case they've won)?

I'm often reminded of the scenarios where a little lad in a playground will take a swipe at a big lad, safe in the knowledge that the big lads daren't be seen to retaliate.

If they do, they are 'big bullies'. Thus, the little lad continues with impunity. Considering himself bulletproof.

I must read the instruction book for a Morse pump.

Hook, Line and Sinker were aliases in a great comedy film.

Dick Emery was in it, as was Derek Guyler (sp) and Jim Dale.

And an Amphicar at the end.

Can't remember which programme had frequent mentions of the key to the executive washroom.

Probably a 70's semi-detached suburban sitcom.
