UEFA's statement looks to me to have been prepared and finessed since they knew they were bound to lose once someone truly independent examined the case.
Although a fine is still to be paid it is only there because City were found guilty of not providing information in a timely manner. City, of course, will now point out that they were reluctant to assist a kangaroo court when they were aware that they were intent on finding them guilty.
I am not a Manchester City fan but am interested in seeing justice prevail.
It will be interesting to see whether UEFA now give it up as a lost cause or decide to take matters further. Presumably they will want to read the CAS decision carefully before deciding to stick or twist.

Talking of uninformed bitter supporters of other clubs, I notice Chatty hasn't commented yet.

Mind you, it must take a while to wipe that much egg off your face.

No comment needed or egg on my face¥ I was in no doubt what would happen, I have already stated that elsewhere.
But your triumphalist post has my wondering if you're expecting a trophy for dodging a rap to go with the one you want for finishing higher in the league than United ( even though you've actually have lost more games)
As for "taxi for Pep" if I had the choice of him or Klopp leaving their post at the end of the season, it's no contest

chatty would you please give me a honest unbiased reply please from your head not heart? why should a debt free club be penalised for spending money yet a club that owes 100s of millions on players be allowed to buy more players willy nilly without clearing their debt 1st does that seem fair to you?

Salt of my tears

It's actually irrelevant if the ban was upheld or not, (
it wont be effecting our qualification ) they've never trouble the trophy engraver in that comp anyway.
It 's just more grist for the mill to all the folk who believe whatever they 'win' is meritless and an even bigger asterisk ( if that's possi le) will be needed.

"City’s viewpoint appears to be that they were being asked to provide evidence that simply did not exist. They were also reluctant to go along with a process which was based on emails which they claim had not only been illegally obtained, but had also been taken out of context. CAS appear to have accepted that, which accounts for the fact they did not quash the fine entirely, but did reduce it substantially. The point they seem to be making is that, while Uefa’s case was based on dodgy material, City really could have been more cooperative with investigators."

However, if clinging onto that little nugget of fiction trumped up to pacify uefa helps you sleep at night then fill your boots Chatty.

Tiger Cat, I think you mean that it is a sad day for you.

And a sad day for you is always a happy day for me!

I really do understand why they didn't fully "cooperative with investigators"
Hence the fine, if they thought that was unjust they would no doubt be appealing it.

You don't get many adult comments on any thread started by 0 years and involving laughing boy normally.
And the initial post told me "adult comments" wasn't what he was aiming for!
