Rishi Sunak's heritage doesn't bother me, he was born and raised in this country, and when it comes to countries like India, who are still a bit sore about being occupied by Britain during the Empire days, it probably helps that he is a Hindoo, but personally I don't like him, because he won't make any decisions and do things, he is kicking everything down the road, and Starmer is the same, he will do nothing when he is Prime Minister and I honestly don't want either party to win the next general election.

So for the time being at least , Christians have more places of worship

Within fifteen minutes walk of my house there are: 4 Catholic churches, 4 or 5 Church Of England churches, 1 Methodist church, 1 Latter Day Saints church, 1 Salvation Army Chappell, and 2 churches of a denomination which I don't know.

I really like old churches from a purely historical and architechural point of view. I've walked and driven past St Joseph's probably a thousand times since the 80's and witnessed it increasingly decay. Reason St J closed, if u look on old maps, there used to be houses with actual folk that lived nearby unlike today.

Perhaps the reason why more Mosques are opening and Churches are closing down is because Muslims do not have the same freedom of choice of going to pray or not.

Especially in in countries with strict Islamic laws!

muslims build more mosques because there is a demand. you can't blame them for the decline of our churches which close because there is no congregation. If it bothers you that much then go down to a Sunday service ' Use it or lose it.

There is one Mosque in Wigan, and lets face it, as Mosques go, it is a pretty crappy affair, in Roman Catholic terms, I know of three churches which have closed down in the last 30yrs, and two of those have been in the last ten years.

St Joesphs.
St Williams.
St Edwards .

So how many other Christian churches are there in Wigan ? and how many have closed down in the last 30 yrs ?

Apart from areas which were flattened along with their churches, during the slum clearances of the 1960s and 70s, in consideration of how many churches there actually are in Wigan, and by Wigan I mean Tonkers Wigan, because there are all sorts of small churches hidden away down side streets, and although some have closed, most have not, they are still open, and there must be over 30 churches in Tonkers Wigan, and one Mosque, I know in Bowton it is a different matter, but Christianity is alive and well in Tonkers Wigan, and if you go to the Wigan Metro boundaries, I bet you have over 500 Christian churches which are still open, to one crappy Mosque in Poolstock

Muslim is not a race, it's a follower of Islam which is a religion, a culture, a way of life. The British Laws are based on Christian culture. Their culture, along with the Laws they are used to observing, doesn't fit in with ours.
As I've said before, a Pakistani mus;lim I've known for over 30 years told me "it's not right that we, as Muslims, are forced to lead a Christian life" by British Law.
