There is one Mosque in Wigan, and lets face it, as Mosques go, it is a pretty crappy affair, in Roman Catholic terms, I know of three churches which have closed down in the last 30yrs, and two of those have been in the last ten years.

So how many other Christian churches are there in Wigan ? and how many have closed down in the last 30 yrs ?

Apart from areas which were flattened along with their churches, during the slum clearances of the 1960s and 70s, in consideration of how many churches there actually are in Wigan, and by Wigan I mean Tonkers Wigan, because there are all sorts of small churches hidden away down side streets, and although some have closed, most have not, they are still open, and there must be over 30 churches in Tonkers Wigan, and one Mosque, I know in Bowton it is a different matter, but Christianity is alive and well in Tonkers Wigan, and if you go to the Wigan Metro boundaries, I bet you have over 500 Christian churches which are still open, to one crappy Mosque in Poolstock
