POOLSTOCK LANE ( AGAIN)

I see the troube makers are at it again on poolstock lane under the bridge near Tippings pub ! I could not believe what i saw opposite the bust stop under the bridge opposite they are reducing the road and making pavement wider . Can they be serious ?? By making it narrower if there be a bus there it would be very tight to get thro . I just wonder what is next ????? GB

GB the council are trying to get motorist to use the new dual carriageway and will pull out every trick to stop them using Poolstock . I don't know why they did not go the whole hog and just put signs up banning vehicles except for access and they could have saved a fortune on these wacky road works. Has far as narrowing the road near to a bus stop the idea is to hold traffic up till the bus is ready to move

Ha ha hee hee, At night time when Poolstock Lane is quiet, along come, Jimmy Jet and pizzalong Pete and thier high powered car owning friends and it becomes , Poolstock runway with audies , beemers and sooped up scooby Do'sss lining up for take off, Brrrrrrooooooooommmmmm,

They are putting a fancy crossing in at that location, it will be for pedestrians and cyclists

In Hingley they have the same sort of crossing on Wigan Road, at where the Welly Loop Line crossed the road, but that one is for horses too, it has a raised up button on the pole, for mounted horse riders

There are winners and losers, Poolstock Lane will be carrying a lot less traffic, but Warrington Road through Goose Green is carrying a lot more traffic, has it was meant to do, when the dual carriageway was constructed during the 1960s, when half of Goose Green was demolished

If they want drivers to use the new road, then they should block off entry to Poolstock from Chapel Lane otherwise they are wasting their time.

I have to say all this crap about making it easier and safer to cross a road ? IS there something wrong with the people living on poolstock lane ? that they need special attention to help them cross a road ??? TELL me this then when these poor sole are out and about in other places how will they be able to cross a larger road ??? Finally if you are trying to make poolstock safer then why not go all the way and do away with cars !!! what a load of bunkum !!!!GB

According to the plans they are constructing build outs on Poolstock Lane, and marking out parking bays, same as they did on Rose Hill, Gidlow Lane etc
They will be on Poolstock Lane, from Carr Lane/St Pauls Avenue to the bottom island at Marus Bridge

Thats good because W I D E pavements means safer cycling,,
