625: I didn't know the number of the Leigh bus, Dostaf, so have learned two new things today.

Techniques like that can be a great vehicle for memorising things.link

Me remembering 625 is another *matter though. (My short term memory seems to go on strike these days.)

*Grow New Brain Cells. Amazingly, it is possible to grow new brain cells (neurons) in the memory center of your brain. According to research, intense aerobic exercise (such as running, biking, etc.) stimulates the growth of cells in the brain's hippocampus.

It isn't the Leigh bus, Jo Anne. I was wrong.

Mickey's hands:

Each of Mickey's hands has only three fingers and a thumb. Disney said that this was both an artistic and financial decision, explaining "Artistically five digits are too many for a mouse. His hand would look like a bunch of bananas. Financially, not having an extra finger in each of 45,000 drawings that make up a six and one half minute short has saved the Studio millions." In the film The Opry House (1929), Mickey was given his white gloves which were a simple way of contrasting his naturally black hands against his black body.

Famous stunt by silent screen star Harold Lloyd.

Replied: 4th Jan 2013 at 16:55

Posted by: jo anne (33512)

Wikipedia:

Lloyd hanging from the hands of a clock high above the street in Safety Last! (1923) is one of the most enduring images in all of cinema. Lloyd did many of these dangerous stunts himself, despite having injured himself in August, 1919 while doing publicity pictures for the Roach studio. An accident with a bomb mistaken as a prop resulted in the loss of the thumb and index finger of his right hand [3] (the injury was disguised on future films with the use of a special prosthetic glove, though the glove often did not go by unnoticed).

Twain quote reminds me of a sketch in a comedy show.

Couple cavorting in bed (clothed, nothing too rude).

there's a knock at the door and she shouts out

"It's my husband! Hide in the wardrobe"

Mon grabs his trousers and does so.

Next thing, he shouts out:

"Hang on a minute, I AM YOUR HUSBAND"

Wait a minute - I'm still looking up escarpment!

'es·carp·ment  n.
1. A steep slope or long cliff that results from erosion or faulting and separates two relatively level areas of differing elevations.
2. A steep slope in front of a fortification.

Are ally cats friendlier than alley cats?

'Time is the root of all this earth;
These creatures, who from Time had birth,
Within his bosom at the end
Shall sleep; Time hath nor enemy nor friend.
