Twain quote reminds me of a sketch in a comedy show.

Couple cavorting in bed (clothed, nothing too rude).

there's a knock at the door and she shouts out

"It's my husband! Hide in the wardrobe"

Mon grabs his trousers and does so.

Next thing, he shouts out:

"Hang on a minute, I AM YOUR HUSBAND"
