Gerroff. It's ancient.

Go on then. If I must.

Jeweller - "Eighteen carat?"

Wigan lad (about to propose to his girlfriend) - "No, I'm chewing a caramel"

I feel somewhat tricked.

Don't worry, Dostaf's only joking, Piccyme123.

(He linked to the picture 11th Nov - 21:19 and called it 'Helter Skelter'.)

Wigan's had 'toffee' shops, rather than sweet shops, for years. Not sure if there are any good ones left in the town centre, now that Uncle Joe's Emporium has closed down.

Of course I was joking, Piccy.

Also giving a nod to your recently acquired ability to put pics on:

Keep it up.

ta jo anne & dostaf, glad we got that cleared up, would never tread knowlingly on anyones toes. I am enjoying adding pics, suits my name dont you think
as for toffee shops, and sweet shops, i / we used to own one, our very own childhood dream of owning our own toffee shop, quite a few years ago, most of our toffee's were sold as
W/O = weigh outs, as opposed to factory wrapped, i loved to weigh them on the scales put them into paper bags, honest was like when i was 4,5,yrs, playing at shop. Happy Days

Typing of clearing things up; the thinking, if you can call it that, behind theis thread is that daft Werthers advert.

Soome silly sod waxes lyrical about her favourite caramel shop.

Piccy - I've just been reading your old blog - and seen that as a school leaver you got a job in a factory and worked in the toffee making department for a while. Your supervisor told you you could eat as many as you liked, which seemed like the answer to a prayer at first, but the novelty soon wore off.

jo anne, that is soooooooooo true, it was my best job ever, not just the toffee department, the entire factory, did not realise it at the time, although i did enjoy it, but now looking back, after school which i loved, i had the time of my life and got paid for it

Sozzzzzz dostaf, i know this has nothing to do with your thread, but i could not ignore jo anne, i had to reply cos it would have been rude not to, hope you understand

Nothing whatsoever to be sorry about, Piccy.

It's a daft thread aboout a daft subject. just a bit of fun.

Now if it had been a thread about how the Parish Church clock is doing regards timekeeping, that would be different.

Before you ask, it's forty seconds slow this week.
