But, other than that, everything is fine

Don't gloat. Wiggin Rugby are losing money hand over fist, and it's only a matter of time before SL is shut down.
Replied: 13th Nov 2020 at 09:14
Jarvo, how do you know they are losing money "hand over first"?
I think coming from you it's just wishful thinking.
Replied: 13th Nov 2020 at 09:40

At least Chorley got their 1st win of the season
Replied: 13th Nov 2020 at 11:48

The owners of Wigan rugby club could buy and sell Whelan. They've got their future secured.

Old Jarvos been saying that for years ,his near death experience has taught him nothing

I didn't gloat. As you are aware I am a former season ticket holder for Wigan Athletic and am keen to see them thrive.
Replied: 14th Nov 2020 at 10:20
What is happening? I can’t follow the stories because Wigan Today won’t let you read unless you pay.

Hello Broady , latest is prospective Spanish owners have put forward their details to the F.A and F.A have said there's a few details in it need resolving . think they're being ultra cautious after geing criticised about the chinese fiasco
Replied: 14th Nov 2020 at 18:29

broady,
Apart from what Gerald Krasner puts out which is very little, all that supporters have got in reality is that a bid accepted by the administrators is being checked over by the now very vigilant EFL.
Whatever else is rumour I think.
A Royle /Ransom bid,and a consortium of Wigan based people with the backing of a local man who has made a fortune in Hong Kong, are reputedly ready to step in if and when the Spanish bid fails which could happen I suppose given the delay. from the EFL,who in my opinion are like most sports controlling bodies not fit for purpose!

It's becoming a farce.
Poor fans must be gutted.

It's bad enough due to the virus not being able to watch the games from our vantage point in E2, but now we have the EFL displaying an over cautious stance. Better safe than sorry I suppose, but if this approach was adopted ealier in the year, we wouldn't be bottom of League 1 with no manager. Speaking of which, I heard the other day Gary Caldwell was being touted for a return to the Club !! Anyone heard any different ?
Replied: 16th Nov 2020 at 09:16

I watched the Zoom WASMental health meeting with Gary Caldwell run by Jay Whittle a Wigan journalist.
Gary comes across as a very eloquent individual who still has a lot of time for the club, and it is worth watching.
Jay Whittles work and interviews and access to the administrators are a genuine source of info at this time of rumour and innuendos from most media outlets.

Spanish prepared to wait for Wigan Athletic green light
The Spanish bidders for Wigan Athletic are ready to wait ‘as long as it takes’ to have their takeover approved by the EFL.

Personally they sound the best as they have put the money down proved they have the 5 million to run the club.As for the other so call investors where have they been for the last three months, and when they mention rugby in the same breath then I get worried(the ground) about there intentions, but one thing for sure we will always have a club with fans like ours.

My heart goes out to WIGAN ATHLETIC and all their supporters it has been yet another disgrace by the authorities they should have stood up and be counted but no they just skulked away inyto the shadows all i hope is that they can at least stay were they are for i feel should they drop again i do not think it will be long before they diaappear .

Reading today that one of the stumbling blocks is the ownership of the stadium. If WIgan Council sell their share in the stadium to the spanish bidders then there could be more trouble for Wigan Rugby

Golden bear, you are having a laugh, you actually think going down again would be the demise of this great club obviously you no nowt about the fans, what a load of crap with fans like ours we will come back stronger. COME ON YOU TICS
Replied: 20th Nov 2020 at 18:46

If every fan donated £10,000 a year to the club, they still couldn't afford the right players to form a top-ranking team.
Replied: 20th Nov 2020 at 22:51
All bets off. EFL have blocked the takeover.

TREVWAFC.
Obviously i am not laughing my opening line stated ( that my heart goes out to WIGANATHLETIC & THE FANS ) so lets get that clear ok i may have been a bit pessimistic about thier demise of which i still prayer they can salvage some thing and not go further down..
I am not talking crap for the reason just said i am an old rugby league fan and a Man Untd FAN i have never been one of those who dislike wigan rugby playing at DW ground and visa versa i have seen on here in the past a lot of uneccersary hatred from both sets and its not nice WE should stand shoulder to shoulder and support the TOWN OF WIGAN AND BE VERY PROUD OF WHAT A SMALL TOWN HAVE ACHIEVED OVER RECENT YEARS so i hope this gives you an indication to my views i will always support the latics /rubgy and sincerly wish them both the best and you too !! G.B.

I'm afraid - "standing shoulder to shoulder and supporting the TOWN OF WIGAN AND BEING VERY PROUD OF WHAT A SMALL TOWN HAVE ACHIEVED OVER RECENT YEARS" - won't help the football club in any way whatsoever.
I would suggest that the so-called 'supporters' support the football and rugby clubs by attending matches, at least.

They are winning 4-2, so that's nice.
Make that 4-3.

Breaking News: Following last nights 5-0 home defeat to Rochdale, a steward at the DW stadium was arrested after hurling a pound coin at the Latics players as they left the pitch.
He was later released by police without charge, as they couldn’t establish if his action was a protest or a takeover bid!????
Replied: 16th Dec 2020 at 12:52

He was matching Lenagans bid

Have the warriors really got money. They seem to be shedding players and last year it's said their losses were close to a million. The 2 clubs need each other if only to maintain the stadium.
