Horrible,but then again you have to make the best of a bad job.I'm not one for sitting all day so i'm trying to keep busy doing odd jobs.

I have to take my car for MOT on Wednesday.

The test centre is open, the appointment already booked.

It should have been tested last summer, but MOT was extended for 6 months.

The bizarre thing being that the Covid-19 risk is far greater now than it would have been last Summer, had no extension been granted.

Fell into the same trap. Hope the test doesn't cost as much as mine. The annoying thing is it's also taxed and insured and we can't go anywhere without risking a fine

I renewed my lancaster canal fishing licence last june.When i received the new one the secretary wrote,as we hadn't been able to fish during the first lockdown he was extending it from june 1st to october 31st.A nice gesture in troubled times.

No change for me still at work im a cleaner

No change for my son whose a firefighter. Can’t do without them.

No change for me either. I'm still 'at it'.
The 6 months grace for MoT tests was daft because garages were classed as 'essential business' and stayed open. I'm also classed as a 'manufacturer' and allowed to keep open.
I'm allowed to work in other people's houses too, so no rest for the wicked. We've been snoo'ed aight wi'work!

The environment did not cut us any slack with the rod license, Mine was the normal price,
In general lifes about the same for me as I'm a 'hermit' by nature, I don't like crowds or queues, here is a real life situation for me,

me,,I've brought you a pie home for dinner
her,, thanks, munch munch, err, this pie is crap, where did you get it ?
me,,,spencers at Bryn ,
her they are rubbish, why did you go there ?
me,,, there was no queue and the pie shop next door, was full

Tom your not alone able to put up with your own company for very long periods. I've often thought if I were to be marooned on a desert island I could cope easily mentally, breaking a leg..... hmmm.
During this lockdown I have five projects on the go, not time to mope and despair.

I'm used to by now,being staying indoors except for once a week shopping,been in since last April looking after hubby.He passed away October,then me and my Son got Covid ..so in again for weeks now this lockdown,roll on Spring.

No pie shops at Bryn anymore,Spencers closed years ago and Grimshaws about 3 years ago.

yes Peter that was a while ago, I suppose todays equivalent would be coming home from wigan and gong into the bus station , there is Greenhaughs on the left and Galloways to the right, galloways will be full cos their pies are cheaper, I would go to the smallest queue, the price nor the quality matters to me, I want to go, grab and scarper rapid,

You need plenty of money for a decent pie, Last time i bought a steak pie and a buttered pie plus one barm cake did not get much change from a fiver

And having worked a lot in Ashton and Bryn area, a good few years ago mind you,I never thought the pies were up to much,and your mrs is probably a good judge.

ispy,I think this lockdown is harder to cope with as the weather doesn't help.
In the one early last year the garden was a place to keep fairly busy,and always interesting as there are opportunities to move around and observe, things to get rid of or improve,replace and generally pass the time easily.
Not the case anymore,so thank the lord for the internet,it helps a lot.

No i was in another band called rubber band.I carried on for a while when i came to preston but it got a bit wearing.I still do jam sessions with Derek when i can.

Coping okay with the lockdown. I'm in a support bubble with my daughter and her family. She works full time but I see her every weekend.
I preferred the last lock down because the weather was great. Able to do the garden and sit reading in it.
Keeping myself busy around the house. I love cooking so have been experimenting quite a lot. If I want a pie, which is rare, I make my own.

Similar to me jathbee,see my bubble every Sunday,make a batch of Veg soup once a week & bake a dozen scones once a week,then freeze.Doing crosswords,playing Words with Friends online with people I've never met,I'll do anything to keep my brain alert.

Same here,baked apple pie, bread..making pizza today,as soon as it warms up a bit will start painting again,have to paint in kitchen which is like a fridge due to fridge and freezer being in front of radiator.

I am thinking of making a corned beef hash

I am not thinking of putting a crust on it, but saying that yoo have got me thinking about it now, so if I just put a crust on, I tend to use suet pastry it is easier to make, and if used with self-raising flour, it seems to make a much lighter pastry

I will tell yoo what I could murder at the moment, and that is a custard, I have not had one for ages, but saying that the ones I have had, have no sugar in them, and they have tasted awful, I mean a custard is only small, so why cut down on the sugar.

As a youngster, I was brought up in Bryn, but now old & decrepit, I live in Staffordshire. Can't get decent pork pies here in the Midlands, so I go online to Bowens in Chorley who make traditional pies filled with lots of jellified pork.

Me neither Nana. A sugarless custard is the basis for a quiche.

That's a thought TTS did it taste of cheese ? Could it have been a mini quiche ?
