I also see its not taking long for all these EURO RATS putting the knife /boot what have you into BRITAIN again was similar when the foot and mouth hit us they were quick of the mark banning this and that but when it came to the french frogs with thier lamb and products what did they do? They defied brussels so if anyone can tell me why is this latest virus only in UK will enjoy your comments .

Similar strains have been found in Denmark and Australia as well as South Africa and the Netherlands.

Look at it this way though, and that is that with Christmas in the South being effectively cancelled, all the nosh they had on order, will now not be required, so in actual fact the delay in transport will probably help, because there is going to be loss of demand for products.

I think it was gaffer who said 55% of what we consume is home grown. Take the South out of the equation and there is plenty of food for us up here.

I think by this time this close to Christmas, all the Christmas stock is in the shops, only panic buying will strip the shelves, and another thing is that because of the Brexit thing, stuff from the continent has been being stockpiled in recent weeks and months, so I cannot see there being any genuine shortages, and of the Brexit thing, with what has happened today with the 'blockade' the EU businesses will be thinking about the loss of UK customers after Brexit if there is no trade deal, and that won't happen overnight, but when the world opens up to the UK those EU businesses will be behind the rest of the world, because if the UK can buy goods cheaper and with fewer tariffs or tariff free from none EU countries, then that is what will happen, and the EU will lose out.

Just watch how quick the channel ports will be back to fully opened for freight traffic

And does anyone seriously think the Spaniards, French, Germans etc. are going to sit back and see their industries decimated when the UK leaves Europe. Just check the number of German made cars sold in the UK. No sales to the UK and that industry will be decimated. Are the Unions going to sit back and see their members thrown out of work? I think not.

It looks like the UK is getting the blame for alerting the world to the new strain of COVID.
The UK’s genetic sequencing capabilities are the best in the world. The odds are that although the discovery was made here it originated elsewhere.

Gaffer, as you're probably aware, the 'new strain' of coronavirus was found in a test laboratory in Milton Keynes some three months ago.
Do you know if they traced the sample to the donor and tracked his/her movements over the previous fourteen days?
Also, I've been told (by a reliable source) (not a man in the pub!) that, in laboratories, only one virus is tested for. This means that, when they are testing for covid19, they only 'discover' if covid19 is present or is not present.
In other words, they don't just search for anything and it is almost impossible to simply 'drop on' something which isn't being targeted.
ie: if someones blood is tested for sepsis the result would be yes or no. They wouldn't just accidentally 'discover' lukeamia, lymphoma or diabetes if they aren't asked to look for those.
I think the 'new' coronavirus is not linked to covid19 and, if this covid19 pandemic wasn't currently with us, it would simply be given another name and not publicised.
Apparently, there are many coronaviruses causing all kinds of diseases from common cold to severe respiratory diseases and these are just ones of many.

But the scientists know that viruses mewtate, so the laboratories who look for mootants, will be looking for it, hence they will know where to look, no doubt by examining the data they have on the spread of the virus, and if they notice a cluster of cases spreading quickly for no apparent reason, then that may suggest a more virulent form of the virus, so they will want to test the blood from those clusters.

If they were 'looking for it' then it's existance was pre-known. That would make it NOT new. It would be an 'existing' strain of coronavirus, like the rest.
But, they say it's a 'new' strain.

Take Ford, for example. They make c.a.r.s. There's lots of 'strains' of Ford c.a.r.s. Fiesta, Capri, Mondeo, Granada, Anglia, Cortina, Focus, Kuga, Mustang, C-Max and more.
They are all c.a.r.s., but a Capri is not a Fiesta. Although they are from the same family.

Things are being invented now, and I can't work it out. They're making a fuss over this to take our minds off other things!
