The Secret

Started by: karvern (76)

Has anyone seen the DVD "the secret"? I was in a manager's meeting last Thursday and my manager decided to share one of her secret's with all of us and let us watch a DVD called "The Secret". My manager is a very successful individual, from Iran. She received education first in England, then in the USA. She's now one of the highest paid RSM's in our district and she started out 7 years ago as a sales rep at a phone kiosk. She has been through tough times, just like the majority of us, but always has a positive attitude and the energy she projects, is astounding and very teaching. The DVD is definitely an eye opener and connects to a book i've been reading lately called, "the power of the subconscious mind". If you'd like to see a little of it, go to www.thesecret.tv. I believe in positive thinking producing positive results and vice versa. You never know... if you venture into this open minded, you may see changes in your life that you never thought you'd see in your wildest imagination Happy searching!

Good for you! My cup is always half full and I'm a true believer in positive thought, it kinda 'makes things happen'! I'll have a look at that site later on.Ta very much for the link.

Really good film, I highly recommend it; good interviews demonstrating that what's been written about (positive thinking) by so many authors over the years. It's about the law of attraction - like attracts like. We must see ourselves as magnets, positive thoughts radiate positive energy which draw positive results. When our thoughts are charged with emotions the universe will give us that what we're projecting. The important thing to remember is not to focus on that what we do NOT want as the universe only sees the thoughts and images and doesn't know the difference between that what we want and that what we don't want. quote: "thinking of what is, Law of Attraction gives you more of what is".
Also.......gratitude: whatever we think about and thank about we bring about (get more of).
I believe there's a book been brought out on this also, but I make my own notes when watching the film, I've already watched it twice, am in the process of watching it a third time.

Empress, I hope you manage to fill your cup a little after seeing it It's definitely an eye opener and Trish if you've seen it, you can understand where i'm coming from regarding the whole process. I've experienced so many magical things in my life and the best advice I was given as a child was, "think positive" and that was way before 'the secret' was produced/released. Let me share a story with you:
I manage a retail store and a customer stated to one of my reps that he's always happy and never stops smiling - she sounded as though she begrudged him that pleasure. Anyway, he in turn replied that he does it because it makes him feel good and it releases a lot more endorphines in his brain - he's smart As I observed this interaction, I heard the woman say, "yeah but some people are happy being miserable, that's just the way it is"! I was a little surprised by her comment but also curious. Can anyone really be happy, being miserable? Is there research on that? Mentally and physically, that can't be true can it?

Hi Karvan, we're obviously on the same wave-length, I do indeed know where you're coming from.
I picked up my first book on positive thinking about 30 years ago written by the grand master of positive thinking Norman Vincent Peale - "The Power of Positive Thinking" (first published in the early 1950's). His motto: stand tall, walk tall and think tall.
Good story about the man who knows what stimulates the "happy hormones", endorphines. Are some people happy being miserable? maybe, if they've got comfortable in that state or maybe they think they don't deserve happiness and abundance. One of the points made in "The Secret" is when you ask for something believe that you already have it, imagine what it would feel like, also..........believe that you DESERVE it. It's said that life is a self-fullfilling prophecy, we colour our own world in. I know from experience that this is true.
