I found a report on the death by drowning in the Leeds Liverpool canal of the wife of my Great uncle. I searched following an entry in the cemetery indexes (thanks Freda) for 1907. It involved going through the microfilms of the local newspapers of the time. It was a fascinating read. She was a husband beating (husband was blind), drunken, philanderer according to the report. She jumped off a bridge into the canal.
