As far as Robin Hills concerned, it was more of scratch in the earths surface ( a day eye) than a giant mine shaft.

Harbour Lane was a deep mine, I was in the old workings there from the 4 feet mine down Standish Hall Drift, when we installed GAS pumps plus two 250 gall Mackleys to clear the old workings..
