History of Wigan   (Help with ancient and recent history.)

I 'attended' Wigan college. I've owned several properties in Wigan. I spent years working in Wigan (still do, occasionally). I know many people in Wigan and I even married a girl from Wigan.

But I don't expect to be classed as a 'Wigan person' due to the fact that I wasn't born, or brought up, in Wigan and have never lived in Wigan.

And getting knighted wouldn't alter those facts!
