Mo, I always say that people of our age have lived through the best of times.
Jobs in the Sixties were easy to come by.
There were loads of engineering companies locally, but ironically I ended up starting my career at Irlam Steel Works in Manchester.
I was doing an apprenticeship, but was doing very well with my qualifications, and was asked to go into the drawing office as an apprentice draughtsman.

I have had a good career working in all sorts of companies and eventually becoming a design engineer.
In the early eighties, computer aided design (CAD) came in and I was lucky enough to work for a company that embraced it.
This progressed to 3D parametric modelling which was just the most amazing thing to work with.
So things worked out OK for a simple lad from Ince who failed his 11 plus.
