I will add that the sinking of the Belgrano was to prevent it from attacking our vulnerable Task Force.


From all the information available, it was concluded that the carrier and the Belgrano group were engaged in a classic pincer movement against the Task Force.It was therefore decided that British forces should be able to attack any Argentine naval vessel on the same basis as agreed previously for the carrier.
