I manage my gas/electricity on line. I am with British Gas and send my meter readings on 21st of each month and they send me an e-mail a week later telling me how much which is paid by direct debit. This suits me because I am paying for exactly the amount of gas/electric I use. I am having problems downloading a pdf copy of my statement so I e-mailed them. They sent me instructions on how to clear it but that didn't work. I then phoned them and quite a few customers are having the same problem and they are working on to clear it.

But, if I hadn't had this problem and not spoken to the technician who told me he had gone into my account and said he would put me on a better one I would never have found out about this better account which will save me an extra 4%. He told me that customers who pay online get a good deal anyway and they are never informed of better ones.
