As I read the replies on this one it brings back lots of memories. The Gerard Arms was not one of my favourites, I only went in there once.
But it seems everyone started their drinking in Rickards or Dickinsons and graduated to the quieter pubs for their first alcholic refreshment before progressing to the more regular ones.
The closing of most of the temperence bars has contributed to the waywardness of some of todays youth I think.
