Thanks for the reply Brian. I went to Greenfield from about 3yrs old and left at 9yrs old. Sadly my memories are mostly not good. I can 'see' every part of the convent in my minds eye but don't remember too many names. I certainly remember the attic dorms and having to lay on our backs, arms crossed, and woe betide you if you moved or turned over.

One particular dreadful episode I remember was when I got appendicitis and they kept me in the dorm so long it burst and I got peritonitis and nearly died. I was rushed to hospital and was given the last rights.

It really is great to hear from so many people who went through those years, some had it good and some not so good. Looking at the posts here mostly not good.

When my wife read the posts she said "now I know why you are Mr Angry" I have only ever brushed on my time there to her and kept it mostly to myself. Most of it is not conducent to good bed time reading.

It would indeed be interesting to meet after so many years. The last time we were all together was walking to school as kids and now we are all 'getting on a bit'

Take care...hope to speak again soon.
