People   (Re-unions, trace old friends and relatives.)

willowandpepper don't think we are related. My grandparents arrived in Wigan in 1926, grandad was a coal miner. I don't know exactly when, but Sam made good friends with Charlie Mcguigan (one of my uncles), who took Sam home with him at a young age. And there Sam stayed for the rest of his life. He passed away from emphysema I believe, he was a heavy smoker. His final resting place is unknown to us, because there's no-one left to ask. Unofficially my grandmother adopted him. But I've always known him as my uncle and a McGuigan.

As far as I remember, he worked at Springview, cleaning trains, maintaining the yard etc. He did serve in the military during WW2, just as his 5 adopted brothers did, unknown what branch. I think he was in N Africa for a time, but don't quote me on that. Sam never spoke much about his life, although we believe he had no other family that we knew of. Perhaps he didn't know he had family either. He was very soft spoken, reddish sandy hair, crystal blue eyes.

I'll speak with my brother, maybe he remembers more than I do. He'll be surprised
