Just a bit of nostalgia an it's true, my mother told me years ago about Jane in the 30s and40s Jane came from Southport once a month to sell blocks of salt , she came to Simms road an Garswood with a pony and cart , now Jane would ride on the cart and in winter she would be crying so someone said to her why don't you walk it would keep you warmer, and Jane's reply was NO I WILL RIDE AND SKYKE
