In 1979 I took my mother to the Registrar, which was in Bridgeman Terrace at the time, to register my grandmother's death, and in front of us it was written into the register, which was a very ornate book, and about two feet wide, with thick embossed pages, and on the opposite page was the previously registered death, which was of a 19yr old lad from Coppull, who had been killed in a motorcycle crash, and he had died from internal injuries, and reading that shook me up a bit.
