Dear Sandra - many thanks again but this is not them - have been sent an old hand written census page 1851 Township of Wigan cant read the street but says
Thomas head 32 Quarry man
Elizabeth wife 35
James son 13 cant read occupation
Joseph son 10
John son 4
Ellen daughter 2
this seems to work out with the dates you have given me previously
