In 1881 the surname Holme was most prevalent in the Lancaster area. A lower representation occured in Liverpool and Wigan. The next level occurred in Carlisle, Blackburn, Manchester, Lincoln and Luton.Small numbers were found in Inverness, Dumfries, Durham, Licoln, East Midlands, Walsall,Gloucester, Milton Keynes, South East London and Sutton. In the rest of the UK it was rare.
