Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

I left DG in 1975 and a lot of the verges between the footpath and the road by this time were already tarmaced and most of the trees had been removed by the council.People even before were parking cars/vans etc on the grass verges and turning them into mudbaths and knocking walls down and putting wrecks in their front gardens.DG was a nice village to live when you were young and knew nothing better but like any other village it had its grot spots and rough families.Also even then houses were being broken into(ours inc).Dg to some people now is a nice place but a think its a one horse town ,one pub one club one school one shop one chippy would not go back to live there for a gold pig
