Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Indeed, the distance between the Downall Green part of Ashton, and Wigan, has always been the same and cannot be changed.

Much like the distance between Chester and Wales has always been the same, as has the distance between Carlisle and Scotland. These also cannot be changed.

But, Chester is in England, not Wales, and Carlisle is in England, not Scotland, regardless of how 'close' they are.

It's a bit like that with Downall Green. It's part of Ashton and, although it's only about 3 miles from Wigan, it's actually in St.Helens.
