Barbara was a few years older than me (not many) and on a few occasions she actually baby sat me

We moved away from Bamfurlong in 1971 and Barbara visited us in about 1973 and by then she had married and 'yes' she had married a policeman and he was with her when she visited, he was actually a BTP policeman (British Transport Police) they patrol the railways.

The next time I came across Barbara was in 1980 and she had a shop on the Millers Lane Estate in Platt Bridge which she called "Pat's Girls" this seemed an unusual name for a shop, but it looked to be doing well.

In the early 1980's I moved away from the Wigan area and lived in Atherton for a while, which is not something I would recommend for a Wigan person to do, because they are a funny lot in Atherton, that I can tell you

The next time I visited Millers Lane was in 1986 and Barbara's shop had gone and it doesn't surprise me to hear that she moved out of the area, because I have never seen anything of her since 1980

Has a "by the way" is Bamfurlong still called the "Posh" part of Platt Bridge
