Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

There are others on here that can answer this better, but...

Annie Deacons shop was sometimes called the shoe shop, but I cant recall that she did sell shoes, although I do recall her selling wool. There was someone who repaired shoes or clogs there from a workshop in the backs, but if I remember correctly, it was one or two houses down. it was still there late 50's, early 60's.

Drifting a little, if we reckon that Rectory Road started at Booths Brow road, and finished at the Legion, I counted that around 1960 or so, there were 14 or 15 small businesses on or adjacnet to it. Where did they all go?
