It originally powered Carr Forge and filled a canal. From Carr Forge to Stanley Mill was a canal (not the Sankey Canal).
So, that canal, linking a forge and a mill and being used to transport iron, was an industrial canal?
And that canal was there, in use, long before the Sankey Canal?
So, how can the Sankey Canal be the "first industrial canal"?
