Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Thanks so much for that everyone-- now I can tell my sister I was right!
I also remember the one in Wallgate-- wasn't it near Malley's shoe shop?
Next question -- When I was about 10 my brothers and sisters and I were taken to a Children's Christmas party in a building in King St ( which I later thought might have been something to do with the Masons) It was incredibly gloomy with pictures on the wall of local dignitaries whose eyes followed us as we went past!
I have a feeling that our local doctor may have arranged for us to go. Can anyone add to this?
