Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Anyroadup, back on subject, Kirstie's 'ouyse, laaaaike, is built just behind Worsley Mesnes farm.
My opinion goes two ways.
Firstly, the bottles etc. could have been rubbish dumped by the farmer.
Secondly, is that the land has been subject to landfill. It follows that refuse could have been dumped there and compacted. It seems that the gardens behind the Rushdene houses are built up on what was previously sunken and flooded land.

A 1961 OS map shows what look to be explorative holes, or could be concrete pillars to bedrock for ground stabilisation.

Didn't Golden Bear work on OS maps? Maybe he could cast some light on it?
