Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Ena. I was just a bit too young to be allowed to see the Stones (and others) at the Ritz.
I think you made a good move as far as music is concerned. I remember the Rising Sun pub in Tottenham Court Road back in the early 70s - still there last time I looked. A big venue was the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park. I saw Joe Cocker there in 72. Finsbury was notorious for gangsters back then. The place has completely changed now.
About 20 years ago I did a bit of relief teaching in Lambeth. I could drive there in 3 and a half hours. The last time I drove to central London (last year) it took 7 hours!
I love London but I explore the hidden gems right off the tourist track!
