Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Started by: RobinG (451)

Hi Dougie and Trixie and all the old Downall Greeners, thought that I had better reply since Dougie had mentioned me. As others have commented, the site is not as friendly as it once was, with people arguing and falling out and others trying to be clever in using words and dialects that have never been used before. I think that life down here in the Garden of England must be very much the same as your life up there, we are all getting older and cannot do anything to stop it. I am glad that village life seems to be picking up and that the graveyard is being taken care of, I remember when I joined the men of the bible class and others in cleaning the paths and surrounds over 60 years ago. My family are all growing up fast, my eldest grandson is now 29 and running a bar/restaurant in the centre of Manchester and my youngest granddaughter is 14 and training hard to be a champion skier in Canada, how life changes. Unfortunately, because of the present pandemic I am being very careful with my lifestyle and watching what I do. I hope that you are all taking care of yourselves, one of these days when things are getting back to normal I would hope to come up to Wigan and see the changes that have taken place in the old place.
