Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Owd Dougie said, "Tumtingle- Did you know the first man killed by electricity in Wigan area was a 21 year old electrician at Stones on the 24th of June 1898 down number 1 shaft pitee switching the new lights on or off that had just been installed". And that's what he said.

However, anybody killed by electricity (or by anything else for that matter) at Stones' colliery, wouldn't be the first in the 'Wigan area', because Stones' colliery wasn't in the Wigan area.
It was (and the site still is) in the St.Helens area!
