Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

It certainly brought back memories, Bert. The road was grid-locked opposite the Bell. You couldn't move on or off the estate.
It looked as though there was a game on!
It's only at funerals in recent years when I've seen the church full, yet 50 or so years ago it was a common thing.
I remember putting the hymn and psalms on the boards before a service, and thinking to myself it's going to be a full house today. That went for both morning service and evensong.
Whether we get to those dizzy heights again, I'm not sure, but I hope we can give it a good try.
