Mortarmillbill I did get our councillor involved because I 1st reported the zebra crossing because I saw a gentleman stumble on the crossing and took photos which clearly was showing that what was a central reservation which was removed to create the zebra crossing had sunk by about a inch on both sides. If the defect had been on any other part of the highway I could have then dismissed it. But because it is a well used crossing facing a park and also used by a lot of younger schoolchildren and mothers with prams it was a health and safety issue but some one so called inspected it and said there was no defect on the highway(i don't no what the councils class as a road defect)The council got round to putting a layer of tarmac over the area on the 1st Nov and by the 21st Nov most of this tarmac had lifted and it now is a bigger mess than before. It wants digging down and rebuilding up with concrete then tar-macing but the council site posts work in progressThe crossing requires closing down until it is repaired and a school crossing patrol putting in place.
