Well worth the visit above and below surface.

The pit yard is full of former underground locomotives and also the normal size steam locomotives and there is a exhibition about the mining industry. They even have a former underground locomotive with coaches running along a track in the pit yard.

For those more daring, you can also go down in the pit cage to view the conditions that miners endured.
