tonker got this Gmail off my sister in Spain a few days ago
I have to say at the moment I am less worried about Israel extending their current rules than I am here in Spain introducing something.
We have had a terrible few weeks here. We were doing so well…. it started with the UK, things so often do, putting Portugal on the green for the football, then it was Gibraltar, seeing as we share boarders there was no point not allowing the brits in, they would have snuck over anyway. Then we had Sant Joan, 23rd of June is a massive summer festival which was when they decided to lift the curfew and extend the bars. And then if we didn’t need anything else in my village we had the Fiesta mayor! This has resulted in huge numbers here worse than I’ve ever seen it, I have student testing positive, I had only ever had 1 or 2, friends where their whole houses are confined, again only ever being told of people I sort of knew, and now all the summer clubs are closed because of infections, that happened yesterday.
They did massive testing in Sitges last week from 16-30s only 500 went because if they tested positive they’d have to confine and 20% were positive. They have now stopped testing in households if one person is positive or if they are a contact of a positive, so god knows who’s controlling the figures. We seem to be heading back to a curfew, and I’d say they may make it very difficult to travel. Last time I found information over 20% was the new Delta variant and now for the first time younger children are catching it which they didn’t seem to do previously, or not in any great numbers
