There are also British border patrol officers working with the French to stop the boats. The numerous launching places over a very large area makes finding them before they reach the sea difficult. Having spent a lot of time in the area over many years I can understand the difficulty of the task. I have no doubt there would be a lot more small boats arriving in England without the efforts of the French police.
It’s a pity the Blair government identity card was scrapped. It would have a positive effect in stopping the flow of illegal migrants.
