General (General discussion, talk about anything.)
Sadly, charity shops have now become far too expensive. I used to enjoy having a toot round them, and very often I'd buy almost brand new clothes from them, some still with the original price tag.
I once bought two beautiful blouses that had price tags on of £80 each, and I got them for just £2 apiece. At times, they'd even have a sale and mark things down to 50p apiece.
I also bought two ceramic wall plaques which originally adorned walls in the 1940s/50s and are in relief, for just a couple of quid each - probably worth more - but many members of charity shop staff are unaware of their true value.
Unfortunately, the directors and above are now using these outlets as a money making scam, very little of which actually goes to the charities, but lines the pockets of those at the top end of the organisation.
