What happens in a few years time when all of the none compliant vehicles have reached the end of their life and gone, and have been replaced by compliant vehicles, then there will be no charge

Do you think that they have put in this traffic monitoring system, for just a few years to charge the older more polluting vehicles ?

They wouldn't go to all that expense just for a system which will eventually become redundant, no it is part of a future national road charging scheme, to be brought in to replace car tax, and rake in billions more money for the government
