Pubs are closing because unlike the past, people now have a different lifestyle than their parents which has included multi channel television with drinking and takeaways at home, going out for a meal at one of the many English and Foreign owned restaurants, many of which were drinking pubs, higher costs of watching live sporting events, owning their own houses and driving larger cars, second homes, foreign holidays, etc, etc

Not to mention the higher cost of living and ripping off by companies!

Then there is Weatherspoons with their cheaper prices for both food and drink which has also killed off many nearby pubs.

Things ain't what they used to be on the local pub and club scene!
