Has any of you read the article in today's "THE DAILY TELEGRAPH" under
"£ 7 MILLION TAXPAYER BILL FOR REFURBISHING THE SPEAKER'S HOUSE"
The speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle has revealed there has been more than £1 MILLION pounds a year been spent on his property since he became Speaker of the House . The building is a grade I listed. The work on it which includes his "Grace &Fvour Residence " also includes State Rooms, &some offices is all being paid for by the INCOME-TAX PAYERS' OF BRITAIN. Some money has gone to the purchase of Silver-Ware too. Total thus far reads £ 6,918, 393 inclusive of VAT , New bed mattresses cost £7,500 for LINDSAY'S BEDS , Cosmetic wall Mirrors £384,00 / 2 bathroom mirrors £336.00 / £421.00 on 2 table lamos.
ALL THIS AT A TIME when we are all being asked to tighten our belts ,yet such extravagance is being wasted on these like ? By the way this guy is a Labour person from CHORLEY who is living in the lap of luxury when i guess a hell of his constituants are going to food banks . .
I highlight this cost solely because of a thread i wrote recently concerning an MP,Coffee the one who said that the FLOODS were caused by the rain coming from the wrong direction !!! Also in today's paper 's are people who are still suffering terribly form the floods with more rain due to fall today , Alas one man told that his insurance had expired and his £ 125.thousand house is now worthless ,there is also 250homes in CATCLIFFE ,WEST YORKS have lost everything they blame not being given enough warning nor help now !!One lady returned from her caravan to find their home completely destroyed to be told she can calim a meagre £500.00 grant to get things back to normal! how pathetic. These house were flooded back in 2007 yet nothing had been done to stop this in the future .I TRULY CANNOT IMAGINE COMING BACK TO MY HOME AND FIND IT UNDER 6-10 FEET OF WATER,
I write this to highlight just how and what these so-called MPs are doing whilst ordinary folk are struggling thro such awful tragic problems yet this GOV can invest /throw money at luxury building's in the commons for one build £7 MILLION on the othe r hand give agrant of just £500 quid to some body who have just lost EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL AND MAKES ME SO VERY ANGRY . #
P.S. TO ADD THESE RESIDENTS HAVE ASKED THE P.M TO JUST COME AND SEE THEIR PREDICAMENT ,AFTER ALL HE COULD JUST FLY UP TO YORKSHIE IN HIS HELICOPTER COULDNT HE AFTER ALL HE LIVES IN YORKSHIRE ???????
