I wish that I could recall which movie had the line about retirement being the main cause of death in old people.

Damned ageing: memory not what it used to be!

PS it is not strictly true, in that it differs between men and women, age of retirement and whether you did a knowledge based or manual activity. So it is true for some individuals.
