Get your tools out Tom, from boilerguide.co.uk......It's not technically illegal to carry out DIY gas work in your own home* as long as you are 'competent' to do so, but the consequences of doing so without the necessary skills are hugely dangerous. Working with gas is a complex and dangerous task that requires extensive training, knowledge and experience. And, if the worst should happen and your work results in something like an explosion or gas leak, you could face criminal charges.

*It is illegal for someone to carry out gas work and be paid for their services if they are not a Gas Safe registered engineer.........So dont pay yourself
