Racism happens both ways as friends and I found out in the Citizen Khan/Peaky Blinders district of Birmingham when our mini bus got caught up in slow moving traffic and we were subjected to terrible racist abuse from some of the local fundimentalists which was not very nice. We were on the verge of calling the police when the traffic speeded up and we got away just in time before any possible real trouble occurred.

People in places like Wigan with their very little immigrant populations and have never visited many of the districts of the larger towns and cities with large immigrant populations have not got a clue about what it is like in many of them.

It's like entering a foreign country!
